Perioral acne?
One simple change in your routine could help fight dermatitis and acne around your mouth (perioral).
Did you know the human mouth is home to around 500-600 different kinds of bacteria? It’s okay…even the cleanest of mouths have this, it’s not a hygiene issue. It’s actually just part of our natural flora that makes the GI tract it’s home and is part of our innate immune system.
I dont know about you, but up until recently the last thing in my routine before I hopped into bed, was brush my teeth. But, if you suffer from acne and dermatitis around your mouth, you should be switching up your routine a bit!
The bacteria that splashes and lands around the outside of the mouth / face and the ingredients in your toothpaste that ultimately end up on your chin when spitting it out when you brush your teeth, is the likely culprit of your unsightly and maybe even painful perioral acne.
Try brushing your teeth FIRST and washing your face LAST. This easy switch can help wash away that acne causing bacteria; it may be good for our GI tract but perhaps not so great for our skin. Try it, It could make a world of difference in your skin care!
